Show Your Employees they are Appreciated

Everyone enjoys being appreciated for a job well done and will actually give them the motivation to put more of themselves into their job. Recent studies have shown that when employees are recognized for even small tasks it is a huge motivator. Everyone enjoys being appreciated for a job well done and will actually give them the motivation to put more of themselves into their job. Recent studies have shown that when employees are recognized for even small tasks it is a huge motivator. A pat on the back is always a nice gesture, but a small employee recognition gift is even better.

There are so many different options when it comes to the various gifts you can give to your employees for doing their job, hitting certain quotas, or many other reasons. You can give them plaques, awards, or other items that will give them not only a nice thank you, but also something that they can keep and show proudly whether in their office or at home. Workers that are shown they are important members of the office or factory will not only motivate them to keep up the good job they are doing, but will increase the morale of others in that area. This gives each employee something to work toward besides just a paycheck, which of course is always nice.

You want your employees to enjoy coming to work. If they look at work, as just a way to get a paycheck, they are not going to be motivated to do their best. You want your employees to know that you do appreciate the work they do and that the business needs their knowledge and expertise.

What to give?

This can be a difficult decision as there are many different things that can be given as recognition gifts such as brass, wood, acrylic, bronze, marble, glass or crystal awards; plaques that are imprinted with the date of a promotion or other celebration; ribbons are good but these are normally used for small appreciation gifts; trophies are nice for giving employees after some type of event such as who makes the most sales in a specific amount of time; and even pins and cufflinks can show your appreciation and your employees will wear the jewelry items with pride.

Recognition Items: Recognition does not have to be shown with common gifts. Any item can be given to show recognition for a job well done or even for employee loyalty. Recognition items include blankets and throws, promotional apparel, household items and electronics. Watches and jewelry for example can provide the same feeling of accomplishment as an award or plaque but will be worn and shown by the recipient to others.

Now if you want to be creative and provide your employees with a recognition gift that will be used and appreciated more than just a plaque to put on the wall or sit on the desk, you have plenty of more options. Today, companies are giving gifts such as BBQ sets, sweatshirts, backpacks, watches, and even pen sets. Once you start looking at all of your options, you are sure to find the best way to show your appreciation for your employee’s hard work.

You can even create various events and list the gifts that will be given when the employee hits that number whether it is sales or quotas. This will certainly help motivate your employees to do their best.
