Most businesses apply the “build it and they will come” mentality for their blog and social media profiles and that leads to failure (or as the social media junkies call it “#epicfail”).
Don’t you love it when you go to trade shows and conventions and see all these companies boasting of “cutting edge” marketing techniques, or state-of-the-art products, or forward thinking minds, etc… and then they ask you to fill out a card to add to their fishbowl at their booth?
I can’t count the number of times I have either met someone or seen an promotion that someone has done for their business and afterwards I sit there and think “What do they do?”
