And it doesn’t really matter what industry you’re in. If there are numbers, if there are physics, or if there are probabilities involved with respect to job requirements, the more efficient and practical engineering is, the better the bottom line for the business is going to turn out.
Engineering also means there will be a lot of business accountability at play. Without your engineers collecting and analyzing all of the required data, and then acting on the numbers that they receive, there can be a lack of transparency in many different aspects of many different businesses. Smart engineering also allows for business conversations in the social environment. We can all tell when someone is faking certain vocabulary patterns and discussions online. That makes the brand seem less than genuine. If you have people that are willing to share their technical knowledge about how and why they do certain things, then that means more of your employees are going to have a greater understanding of their jobs as a whole.
