The Most Important Business Tips From Donald Trump

Today I found an email I had sent to my husband a couple of years ago – it contained tips from a Donald Trump book called ‘The Way to the Top’. All the tips are from Business Leaders – they are true classics in my opinion and worth considering often in good times and when we are being challenged.

With most communication happening via email nowadays – a quick review of your Inbox and Sent Items can be extremely rewarding. I have on average around five to seven thousand messages in my Inbox and about half that amount again in my Sent Items. When I do a ‘clean out’ I review each email and then hit the delete button.

[BB Editor] I recommend printing this blog post and pinning it to your desk or wall and have a look at it a couple of times a day – there are so many awesome tips here for your business.

Also in the Donald Trump Book are these TEN Simple Principles For Building A Successful Business:

  1. Go where the traffic isn’t
  2. You will never achieve more than you are willing to settle for
  3. The only currency that has finite limits is time – so spend it wisely
  4. You make your money when you buy, not when you sell
  5. Get in too late and get out too early (that is how I made my money says Trump)
  6. Do business with good people
  7. Be one of those good people and people will do business with you
  8. Serve the ultimate Boss – your customers
  9. Don’t worry about things you can not control
  10. If you review it – they will do it – monitor and review employee tasks and accomplishments in real time in order to ensure that everyone accomplishes their goals

Remember The Five P’s: Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance

And finally the last of the tips I got from Donald Trump’s book “The Way To The Top”….

Buy low – Sell high

Know where you are going and others will follow

Nothing happens until a sale is made – everyone in the company should have the skills of a salesperson

It takes years to build trust and seconds to lose it

A person who is nice to you but rude to a waiter is not a nice person

Always remember where you have come from and the values you got there

The two best words in business – NO and FREE – be willing to say no to bad business, poor deals, poor returns in order to focus on better opportunities. Free – nothing is free

Copy successful people

Get the best people they will do the best job

Success comes from hard work – the guy on top of the mountain didn’t fall there

Share with your superiors and learn from criticism

Listen don’t just wait to talk

Don’t follow the money – the money will follow you
