4 Important Leadership Lessons for Entrepreneurs
I’m going to keep this short, but just to give you some interesting things I learned this year about leadership.
I’m going to keep this short, but just to give you some interesting things I learned this year about leadership.
1. Find your purpose: This is one of the hardest things for anyone to figure out but I am pleased to say that I finally figured it out sometime this summer. It takes knowing who you are, what you stand for, what your passions are and then figuring out the “why” to your purpose. Then you start living it!
2. Passion is nothing without Communication or Action: I meet so many people who say they are passionate but their actions and words do not reflect this. It’s great to have passion burn in your gut, head and heart, but you need to let it out and make that difference!
3. Not Following-up renders Networking Useless!: I have been focusing much of my time this year on making connections both live and through social media. Many people like to engage, exchange cards or info, but then they don’t follow-up! What is the point of connection? The idea is to engage and create a relationship because you never know what opportunities may lie for each of you. As my third rule of connection states: “Every person is a Bridge to something or someone else”.
4. Surround yourself with inspiring and challenging people: This is something I’ve known for a while, but never implemented to the degree that I have this year. The result is more inspiration, drive and passion within me! Not only to take care of my family and grow my business, but also to make an impact on every person and organization I connect with.
Choosing entrepreneurship is a courageous, gut-wrenching and sometimes noble thing to do. But if you want to truly be both happy and successful, make sure you are following your passion and purpose, surrounding yourself with the right people and growing along for the ride.
