Facebook Provides Preview of Changes to Pages

As mentioned already on the 23rd of August 2010 Facebook will be removing the box tab from Pages and also reducing the tabs width from 720 pixels to 520 pixels. This is a major change from the format and some people believe its due to Facebook trying out new ad formats.

Warning! Facebook Page Custom Tabs Will Shrink to 520 Pixels by End of August

Facebook has now warned that the change in width of custom tabs for Facebook Pages will happen this month. Currently a custom tab has 720 pixels of width to play with but by the end of August 2010 it will go down to 520 pixels.
