As it’s getting close to the end of the year, most people are focused on holiday shopping and getting out of work early. Most businesses will wait until they come back in January to really get thinking about their marketing for the new year.

Want to get a head up on your competition this year and kick start your new year already running?

Take a little time to plan out your marketing now and get it kicked off a few weeks early.

Stop and think about it…

What can you do this week to add one more tool to your marketing toolbox? Better yet, what can you do today?

Write out your next month’s blog posts?
Get your postcard campaign designed and ready to mail?
How about calling 10 leads and getting appointments lined up?

These are just a few things that can be completed in a few hours at most that you can do to get the ball rolling NOW instead of waiting until January to move forward with marketing your business.

I know…

You might be thinking “But this time of year, no one is really don’t much business.” Well, here’s where I got you.

First, many businesses have budgets they need to spend before the end of the year or they won’t get that money next year.

Second, so some people won’t be in the mood to do much now. That’s ok, you can get the appointments and follow up ready to go now. Then you’ll have that much more already in your sales funnel start January 2nd.

The goal is to start the new habit now BEFORE the end of the year. By just adding one new marketing tool to your business now, you are getting a head start and can do that much more come January.

Also, think about this. It takes 21 days to develop a new habit. If you started now on your new task, and made it a daily thing to grow your business, by the time everyone else is just getting started, you have already made it a part of your daily ritual. You’ll be a rockstar for your your business.

This doesn’t have to be a big thing. Spend a couple of hours writing blog post, Social media updates, making phone calls, etc. These are all easy things to do and wont take a lot of time. Just get going on them.

While you’re competition is sitting back and sipping eggnog, you’ll be running circles around them and getting that head start to make the new year the best year ever!
